What we check on every phone
Our inspection is designed to catch the issues that matter in daily use – so the phone you buy behaves the way a good phone should.
Device quality inspection
A visual inspection of the body, frame, back glass, buttons, ports and SIM tray to identify scratches, dents or signs of previous repair.
Hardware & software testing
Buttons, vibration, speakers, microphones, charging port, sensors (proximity, gyroscope, compass), Face ID / fingerprint and a check that the software boots and runs normally.
Display checks
Touch response across the screen, dead pixels, discolouration, burn-in, brightness and True Tone / auto-brightness where available.
Camera checks
Every rear and front camera is tested for focus, stabilisation, flash, video recording and lens condition.
Battery health checks
Battery health is read where the phone reports it (iPhone and supported Android models) and listed with the device. Charging and drain behaviour is also checked.
Network & connectivity
SIM detection, calling, mobile data, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC (where present).
IMEI verification
IMEI numbers are checked against the device and verified so the phone is free to use. Activation locks and accounts must be removed.
Device condition grading
Each phone receives a cosmetic grade – Like New, Excellent, Good or Fair – shown clearly on the listing.
Billing
You receive a bill for your purchase with the device details and IMEI for your records.
Four honest grades. No surprises.
Grades describe cosmetic condition. Every graded phone has passed the functional checks above unless a fault is clearly disclosed on the listing.
Like New
No visible marks – looks and feels new.
Excellent
Very light signs of use, barely noticeable.
Good
Light visible signs of use, fully functional.
Fair
Noticeable wear, fully functional – best value.
Peace of mind after you buy
Warranty options vary by device and are shown on each listing where available. The exact coverage, duration and terms for your phone are explained before you pay and stated on your invoice.
- Warranty details shown on the product listing
- Terms explained in store before purchase
- Coverage stated on your bill
- Remaining brand warranty (if any) disclosed for newer devices
Pre-owned and refurbished phones may show signs of previous use in line with their grade. Unless explicitly stated on the listing or invoice, we do not claim that a device contains only original manufacturer parts.
Have a question about a specific phone's history? Ask us before you buy – we're happy to show you the inspection results.
